An interesting change has happened with Australia's business training courses. A bigger and better version of the Diploma of Business was released on 19 October 2020. The new course has the code BSB50120.
From 8 units to 12 units
One important development is that the Australian Government has increased the length of a Diploma of Business from 8 units to 12 units. Not all students may welcome this as the standard length of the course has expanded similarly, from 8 months to 12 months.
But the change will definitely raise the value of the qualification over coming years. The Diploma of Business has become a serious course that requires real dedication.
Goodbye to the Diploma of Business Administration
The thing we find most interesting is that BSB50120 replaces / supersedes several qualifications, including the Diploma of Business Administration.
While many students are interested in studying for a Diploma of Business Administration, now they'll have to look towards the new Diploma of Business to meet their training needs. You can still study topics such as leadership and business development within the new program.
Options when doing the Diploma of Business online
BSB50120 is a juggernaut of a course in terms of options. Nine specialisations are available. The number of units that may be taught is 99, including five core (compulsory) units.
Only by doing online courses will students be able to take advantage of the many options. Chances are that the particular specialisations an individual students wants will not be offered near to where they live.
